Probably “Ambiente” is one of the largest trade fairs in the world, but whenever I visit Frankfurt, the city is kind of boring and then there are so many boring products everywhere. So when I was there this year, I was not expecting much….
This year the Japanese organization called “Sozo.com” (meaning “creation.com”) supported by The Ministry of Trade had a event “Japan Style”. There are some quite interesting products. For example, the new design”Metaphys” exhibited many unique products which Japanese designer Chiaki Murata designed. He is internationally well known as a designer for Microsoft’s Xbox.
There are many nice products, but what I like the most among their collection is “HONO”, which is a LED candle light. It is a LED candle, so you can locate it anywhere…even in a kids room. You can turn on the light by using a magnetic match stick. Just touch the top of the candle by the stick, then you see the light.The movement of light is just like a real candle. This is not the first time that I see this product since they showed this product two years ago in Milano Salone. But this one is the new version (adjust to the EU voltage 220-240), and it is finally available for the European market! They will officially release this in April 2008.
