Tadao Ando designs Shibuya station

Tokyo Kyuko Dentetsu, one of the main underground lines in Tokyo, showed Shibuya station under construction. They will open Tokyo Metro Fukutoshinsen on June 14th, 2008.

Tadao Ando designed the station which is named “Chichusen” meaning “Space craft for the earth”. The oval shape designed by Ando contains all the three floors: platform floor, the system control floor, and the concourse floor.

“Chichusen”‘s length is 80m, and width is 24m. It is made of GRC (Special cement using glass fibers) .
