TEAR DROP by Tokujin Yoshioka

Japanese lighting brand YAMAGIWA collaborated with designer Tokujin Yoshioka and will release “Tear Drop” lamp on August 29th. This was originally exhibited at Milan Design festival in 2007. The designer says that the meaning behind “Tear Drop” is “Emotional Tears”

When you hold the lamp with both hands, you feel like you are holding the light itself. It is artificial light, but makes us feel like it is organic and belongs to nature. What is also interesting about this lamp is that it looks beautiful even when it is off due to the transperency of the glass.
