The Mainichi design prize is an annual award given to outstanding Japanese designers, and the winners of this year have been annouced today. Product designer Fumie Shibata is well-known for her ergonomic design of medical devices. Another winner is graphic designer Kazunari Hattori. His graphic images taking advantage of visual effects have been widely praised.
