Kichiji Kishimoto Shoten, located in Hyogo, Japan, has been manufacturing Komadaru or Sake barrels over hundred years. Nowadays Komadaru is mostly used for decorative purposes. With the purpose of reinventing Komodaru, Kichiji Kishimoto Shoten started a new project titled “Komolabo” and asked thirteen Japanese designers to create Komodaru’s package designs as well as towels which come with Komodarus.
